Registry copy
This page reads ?cert_id= from the URL or sd_duckling_id from localStorage, then loads the live certificate record. If the certificate route is temporarily unavailable, it falls back to the live duckling profile so the page still renders useful live state.
βΉ How Birth Certificates WorkβΊ
Each duck is issued a birth certificate based on the real launch details available at first verified login. This helps establish the duck's original place of birth, parent identity, and core registration details from the moment it is spawned.
Where possible, the certificate uses:
first verified launch location
nearest recognised real-world locality
parent account details
verified registration data
The goal is to make each certificate feel grounded in real origin data rather than invented information. If certain details cannot be confirmed, they are left unverified rather than guessed.

How origin data is captured, verified, and recorded.
Birthplace & Citizenship
A duck's birthplace is tied to the first verified geo-location at login or launch. That location determines the duck's original country, region, and nearest recognised locality β becoming its initial citizenship and birthplace record. This origin record provides the first registered jurisdiction for platform identity, birthplace history, and future system logic tied to where the duck first spawned.
Location Accuracy
The certificate should never invent a birthplace. Where possible, the system:
uses verified geo-location data
resolves the nearest real city, suburb, district, or locality
stores birth country, region, and locality based on actual lookup results
If exact details cannot be confirmed, the certificate stores only what is verified.
Parent Details
The parent listed on the certificate is the person or account that spawned the duck. The certificate records as much verified parent information as possible:
first name
middle name, if available
last name
verified address
other registration details connected to the parent account
Address Consistency
If a parent enters an address that does not reasonably match the geo-location from which the duck was launched, that information is not treated as automatically consistent. The certificate system checks for mismatch between launch location, declared address, and verified account details. Where those details conflict, the system flags or holds the record for confirmation rather than creating a certificate using inconsistent information.
Real Data Only
Birth certificates reflect verified and obtainable information only. No fields are guessed or fabricated. Any missing or uncertain fields are marked as unverified, pending, or left blank until supported by real data.
Certificate Identity Elements
Where supported, the certificate may include identity elements such as:
π Birth timestamp
π’ Registration number
π Origin seal
π‘ Crest or shield
βοΈ Birthplace jurisdiction
π€ Parent registration
These details strengthen the duck's identity record while keeping the certificate tied to real launch and registration data.
